Dear Diary (<- br="" snort="">

Usually I find it hard to save money in Japan, and today was one of those days...

I went to the Disney store and picked up a pamphlet...

She looks so cute! I want her clothes! And look at her bags! They're book bags! :O they're selling them in the Disney store for about $50 D : I had to not buy the Alice one...

And next month D : Omg! I want the skirt, and shirt (but I don't even like shirts with sleeves!) and the Zero plushy - it has Jack, Sally and Sandy Claws!! And the hat headband has a little Jack Skellington head. And look! Halloween themed tsum tsums!! Omgoodness!

I had planned to buy this to put on my bag. And it was the only one left, and it was 50% off. Good timing! Someone saw me with it and tried looking for another >.>

I'm not going to buy anything >.> ... <.< ... >.>

I cleaned the apartment today so it looks really nice. I've been watching A LOT of 'New Girl'. Like, I started it a few days ago and I'm now halfway through season 2. Jess and Nick are so cute together! Halfway through 'The Way of Kings' - it's good!
Godammit. I always say 'pretty good' to mean I'm enjoying something. But got told 'pretty good' is sarcasm =/ and that it doesn't actually mean really good. I guess in New Zealand it means 'really good'. TWOK's is really good. I love Kaladin and Syl. But I can't wait to read 'Divergent' and I just got 'Mazerunner' because it was 38% off for the whole series ... and the film doesn't come out in Japan until February D : it's ridiculous!!
And I really want to read 'Howl's Moving Castle'. So after TWOK I plan to put the 'Stormlight Archive' series on hold and catch up.

Something's going on in Machida

Mayumi got us pudding from Osaka! It's so cute and so yum! I've kept the little hat thing.

Kamakura and a beach nearby

Birthday bears are cute.

They had pet therapy booths near the Fujisawa train station where you can pet dogs. I needed it! I miss pets! This one seemed bored out of its mind though. There was one (I didn't take a photo) it was so tiny and it was shaking. I think I made it nervous. But the lady told me it was friendly so I pet it and it was so sweet, licked my fingers.

Shiho and I.

I tried this at Denny's .... looks yummy but as for taste? It was pretty dry and I wouldn't buy it again xD Japanese Denny's is definitely different from NZ Denny's (which I will assume is different from U.S Denny's).

Shibuya and Harajuku

Harajuku ... what a windspren would look like (enlarged)? A fairy? A dragon?

Mayumi and I nearly lost our minds.

(Harajuku) I lie too much :P

NZ Elections 2014

Russel Norman (Green Party co-leader and who I voted for... I just googled him because he sounded
Australian... did anyone else know his partner is Anna Paquin's sister??) vs... the person almost 50% of kiwis re-elected... over a year after this video O_o;; wow...

It's moments like these you need Minties.... I mean >.> that I'm glad I don't live in New Zealand any more. The direction it's going in... the division between the rich and poor is going to continue to grow. Only the wealthy are going to benefit from National. Everyone else, tough luck, you're just fucked (or your other option is to find work overseas, like me). I feel so bad for the people that are struggling. And the environment of NZ XD wohoo fracking and coal! Who needs clean rivers to
swim in anyway? NZ isn't green any more.

And now for some of my favourite tumblr posts about the election:

tearsoakedstars ‘idkkk man. This election. It’s super painful. I’d like to thank everyone that voted for National. Together we can drive this country into the ground’
fizzityuck ‘but have you ever actually met a national voter? have you ever honestly met a living, breathing, human being who agrees with anything national has to say? where are all these national voters coming from? do they all live in caves in the mountains? emerging every election season by the thousands, swarming through the countryside and flocking to the cities to vote
national????’
Amberhilton - 'who keeps letting lizard men control oceania. we are meant to be a really good continent.' (about Tony Abbott and John Key)

“Do not think your single vote does not matter much. The rain that refreshes the parched ground is made up of single drops.”
- Kate Sheppard quote

And something I found on facebook:

"Last night confirmed that political action starts, not ends at the ballot box. Don't vilify those who didn't vote; we live in a political system that breeds apathy, especially for those who are already disenfranchised. Don't vilify those who voted National; National has the media, and big money, and
capitalism on its side. The cards are stacked against the left.

We need to regroup and reorganise. There are other ways to engage politically. Grow kai and relearn the skills of our tūpuna. Buy less junk. Produce art. Foster our own happiness. Educate ourselves. Embrace Feminism and other socially progressive movements. We must fix ourselves before we fix the world.

Utua te kino ki te pai - Reward evil with kindness. Three more years..."

Creepy Post-it-Note artworks by Don Kenn

These are awesome, right?

Hadano...

Near the station ^^ went here for an extra shift. I love Hadano so far. I think any places with lots of animals is a good place.

Why harrow...

So many excited birds gathering together in trees, power lines and rain gutters. A choir of chirps before sunset.

From Sakuragicho station

From

I love my job because I get to talk to Japanese people (sometimes even Chinese!) of all ages. From 3 year olds to retirees. I had a 'wine class' for my last lesson yesterday. I was allowed to have a glass of Spanish wine with my student and we discussed festivals. I found out he worked for a recorder (the musical instrument) company for about 25 years. For his job he had to go to Germany once a year. How awesome is that? He worked for Aulos. He told me to go to Kyoto in autumn, not spring xD and to visit Odawara castle : D

Lately I've been watching Orphan Black... as in... I started it a few days ago and I've nearly finished the first season. It is so good!
